My work uniform may be a white physician's coat but when my shift ends at a local hospital, I am quick to grab my digital camera and jump into my other passion - capturing photographs of nature and wildlife.
I shoot with a Nikon D7000 and D800 bodies and use an AF-S Nikkor 600 mm f/4G and Sigma F 5/6.3 lens for shooting most of my subjects. I am a self-taught photographer and I don't aspire to be the best photographer out there; instead, I am driven to combine my knowledge of medicine and passion for photography to help those in need.
In 2013, I was sitting in a local coffee shop and spotted a fundraising flyer for a young patient in need of a lung transplant. I attended the event and donated two of my photographs to help pay for his care. I continue to donate photographs to help patients who need medical care and encourage you to contact me if you know of someone who may need help.
